My Lesson Plan
Topic: Ecological Relationships
Grade Level: Grade 11
Before the discussion, I asked the students to give a short summary of the discussion last meeting. Then we proceeded to the motivational activity.
Through a picture analysis the students will analyze the picture and conclude the event that will happen if the organisms in the picture collide or meet.
The purpose of the motivational activity was to indulge the students to the lesson. This will also enhance their critical thinking skills because they will think and analyze the images carefully. After the motivational activity, I linked the motivational activity to the lesson.
Then we started the discussion by defining terms. We discussed the terms one by one then we gave specific examples. I also asked examples from the students so that they will try to think also.
For their activity, I let the students watch a video. The task of the students is that they will identify the type of ecological relationship that is being shown in the video.
After the video presentation, we processed the answer of the students. The students listened attentively and they took down notes.
Then I tasked the students to compose an essay about the importance of ecological relationships in our ecosystem. This will promote their higher order thinking skills.
The students passed their papers after they have written their essays.
Then for the follow up activity, I tasked the students to write the ecological relationship that exists between the organism in column A to the organism in Column B.
As a teacher, we should be able to make sacrifices for our students. Sacrifice our time and effort just to be with them. But if we are able to touch the lives of the students, to become a part of their growth, they will forever remember you. They will commemorate you, they will love you, and admire you. Because you are a hero in their eyes.
